Current Events and Pictures

We went on Saturday morning at 9am to 18th and Kendall to fix a feeding station.  The shelf had broken.  The people there are kind enough to allow us to have one there, we provide the food, and they make sure there is food an water there.  Keeping it up off the ground means that skunks cannot get to the food.

We trapped at a trailer park in Erie (10/27/09), we got 6 males and 1 female, and 3 ear-tipped cats (re-released).  This was really interesting and we learned tons.  Suzanne B. taught us about trapping and some tips and tricks, she was great.  Then we shuttled the kitties (in their traps) to the mobile unit in downtown Erie where Divine Feline did the spay and neuters.  They will be re-released on Friday due to the terrible weather here.  Here are a few pictures of the kitties.

This cat you can see has a tipped right ear.  When the cats get spayed or neutered they get their right ear tipped.  This allows anyone trapping to know they have already been done and they can re-release them immediately.

Notice how "Rubenisque" this kitty is.  The caretaker at this colony is doing a great job.

Kittens Baby and Bella go to their forever home!

2 cute kittens from a colony in Erie go home together on Saturday, September 12th.  Baby and Bella were rescued from a colony in Erie, their ears were already tipped, but several dedicated volunteers came together to rescue them and work with them so they could be adopted out.  Thank you everyone!  Thank also to Almost Home Adoptions for rescued cats who squeezed them into their facility.

Colony Feeder

Here are some pictures of a colony feeder at 18th and Kendall in Denver.  Feeders are most helpful when then can be raised off the ground, this keeps the skunks and ants from really creating a messy feeding site.  Keeping the food dry by providing a covered feeder keep the food edible for longer and also helps keep the site clean.  If you have any handyperson skills and would like to volunteer some time to get other feeders up to speed, PLEASE let us know.  We really could use the help!
